Planting a powerful crop of positivity.

Good morning,

Those of you who have read a few of my letters will know that I am a lover of a good quote. Take it away, Henry Ford:

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”

In this letter, I want to look at the power of positivity and the two real options you can choose from when facing anything in life. If you can master the art of making the right choice, then previously unknown possibilities will become available to you. What are these two simple choices? Well, lets take a look:

  1. The choice to say yes, and proactively pursue what you want.
  2. The choice to shy away from opportunities and say no to the options available to you.

The above may sound like a simple choice, but it relates to a much bigger question that most of us have thought about at some point – “Do my actions really matter?”

I would like to explain why I think it’s crucial you see yourself as important, and therefore, why you should care about your actions. In life, whenever we act in a physical or emotional way,  there is always a reaction. Depending on what you do, it may be small or large, but there will always be repercussions from your actions.

The fallout I am referring to will not come in the form of any divine retribution after we give up the ghost, but rather a similar reaction to a ball flying across a room after I spank it with my foot.

If you go through life with the belief that every action you make will ultimately shape the future you inherit, you will naturally make efforts which will contribute towards a direction you want to follow. The alternative is to believe that what you do doesn’t matter. This belief will lead you into the habit of not thinking critically about the things you do and think about in life. With this line of thinking, what is the point anyways? If my actions do not have any bearing on where I am heading then surely adding direction to these actions would be a waste of time and effort!

The two above mindsets are the difference between being proactive and passive with life. Your existence is not fixed, if you push in one direction of your life, your situation will react and your life will begin to change. Sitting, waiting and hoping for things to change around you will likely only lead to disappointment.

Planting positivity into your life can be the start of great changes in situation and mindset. We will talk about this again soon :).

Yours sincerely,
